Our policies

What to expect from us, and what we ask of you, before you book.

Booking and deposits

Book online or call the desk. We take no deposit for any service, and your time is held as soon as you book. If a time you want is not showing, call us.

Canceling and running late

Please give us 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a visit so another guest can have the time. If you arrive late, we shorten the service to end on time, or move it if you prefer.

If you miss an appointment

If you miss a visit without telling us, we will call to rebook. If it happens more than once, we may ask you to book by phone.

Children and companions

Walnut is for guests 18 and over. A friend or partner can wait in the lounge during your visit.

Undressing and draping

Undress to your comfort. Your therapist steps out while you get ready, and you are covered by a sheet throughout. Only the area being worked on is uncovered.

Pressure, consent and stopping

Your therapist asks about pressure, areas to focus on and areas to leave alone before starting, and checks in again halfway. Pressure runs light, medium or firm. We ask before working on a sensitive area, and we stop whenever you ask.

Using the thermal areas

Heat here means hot towels and warm stones during a treatment. There is no sauna or pool. Tell your therapist if a towel or stone feels too warm, and ask your doctor first if you have a heart condition, are pregnant, or have been told to take care with heat.

Phones and quiet

Phones stay on silent in the lounge and are put away in the treatment rooms. If you are expecting a call, tell your therapist and take it in the lounge.

Before your visit

Come ten minutes early and skip a heavy meal. Tell us about allergies or skin sensitivities before a facial. We can tell you every ingredient we use.

When to ask your doctor first

Ask your doctor before booking a massage after an injury or surgery, if you take a blood thinner, or if you have a heart or circulation condition. We work with your doctor's go-ahead, and may suggest you see one first.
